Uwe Klatt, director of Central Europe for Disruptive Technologies, took to the stage to talk about how the building sensor maker has over 40,000 sensors in the field, how they work, the most common uses in the industry, and how the startup is maturing. Watch Uwe’s presentation

Adam Penkala, chief operating officer of Velis Real Estate Tech, talked about the 10-year-old firm’s five software solutions for property managers which are currently being used in 400 projects, how the automation of warehouses is booming, and Velis’ plans to go global with 25 countries this year. Anna Walkowska, co-founder of ProperGate, talked about how the logistics management startup is trying to educate the market on how to create smart transport, cities and construction sites, their experience on construction firm BESIX Group’s acceleration programme, and the startup’s monthly subscription model. Przemysław Pączek, CEO of Hyper Poland, shared how the hyperloop sector is growing dramatically, the biggest issue for the team is real estate and the length of planning processes, and how they have recently received funding to build a proof of concept. Watch Przemysław’s presentation.

Anna Tryfon-Bojarska, innovation manager at Skanska, talked about the developer’s aims to create future-proof office buildings, the impact of Internet of things, and the huge opportunity to structure data. Watch Anna’s presentation.

Emil Kaminski, research and innovation manager of Ghelamco, shared the developer’s belief of building a smart city is the “right thing to do”, the difficulty in creating meaningful innovation, and the issue the firm is facing when trying to change the perception of young people in Warsaw to make them stay in the city. Ewelina Woźniak-Szpakiewicz, CEO of DMDModular, explored why modern construction is accelerating, how the modular developer wants to change the image of construction, and the firm’s project to build a modular hotel with Marriott in New York. Watch Ewelina’s presentation.

Panels

Uwe Klatt of Disruptive Technologies, Adam Penkala of Velis Real Estate Tech, Anna Walkowska of ProperGate, Przemysław Pączek of Hyper Poland, returned to stage for a panel and were joined by Maciej Wiśniewski of Loredo RES. They discussed how realistic the idea of Hyperloop is, what clients are prioritising, and whether there was room for more tech products to come into Warsaw.

For the second panel Emil Kaminski of Ghelamco, Ewelina Woźniak-Szpakiewicz of DMDModular, and Michael Ewert, head of technology solutions for EMEA at JLL, discussed how tech companies can sell into the industry, the biggest barrier to modular, and whether Poland is doing enough with neighbouring countries in tech.
