Avison Young partners with Connected Kerb

The partnership will see Connected Kerb and Avison Young working together to promote the benefits of green mobility and exploring potential opportunities to drive the real estate industry’s shift to sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Chris Gore, principal at Avison Young, said: “The climate emergency has sparked a period of unprecedented change, which will affect our transportation choices, having a knock-on effect on the urban infrastructure required to service technologies like EV charging. Connected Kerb’s charging system is the greenest on the market, made from recycled materials and with a long lifespan due to its unique, robust and future-proofed design – with important technology housed beneath the ground.

The company won a global award for environmental innovation earlier this month – known as a SEAL Award – alongside worldwide giants including Unilever.

In demonstration of its commitment to this award-winning technology, Avison Young will deploy Connected Kerb’s charging solution into its office car parks – the first being in Birmingham.

This development is in line with the company’s recent commitment to implement net zero carbon in its UK workplaces within the next decade, retrofitting existing presences with energy efficient technology, and increasing carbon literacy throughout its workforce.

Pateman-Jones continued, “Charging infrastructure in the UK is still woefully behind where it needs to be – we are estimating the need for an installation of 10,000 chargers per month, every month until 2035 in order to cope with the influx of EVs. The first challenge is educating key industries, including the real estate sector – that’s why partnerships like this one are so crucial at this stage.”

Connected Kerb is also introducing wireless charging this year across the UK, including in the Midlands and Scotland, alongside its traditional plug-in charging and IoT capabilities.
