Landmark upgrades maps with OS geospatial data platform
Landmark Information has welcomed the launch of Ordnance Survey’s latest geospatial data platform, designed to improve access to location-based data via OS MasterMap, with a series of updates to its Promap mapping and data service.
Having been part of the OS Customer Advisory Group prior to launch, Landmark has already implemented some changes to its flagship data and mapping tool, Promap, including the ability to view more MasterMap data than before for less cost. This means that every Promap user will benefit from better access to the most detailed and accurate maps available and a cost saving on every new MasterMap accessed via the online service.
Josh Rains, head of product environment and mapping at Landmark Information, said: “Geospatial data has the ability to unlock huge benefits to our industry and the wider UK economy. The Geospatial Commission and Ordnance Survey have been working to make their data more accessible for the market. The output of this means significantly more geospatial data will be available for developers and other property professionals than ever before.
“We will be providing greater opportunities to use Land Registry data with enhancements to our Title Fill tool and Premium Layers in Promap over the coming weeks.”
Promap is used by 20,000 land and property professionals across the UK. It provides fast and easy access to Ordnance Survey maps and related location-based intelligence, via any online browser, and is used daily by surveyors, architects, property developers, civil engineers, environmental experts, land management firms and other industry professionals that require instant access to reliable mapping and location data.
