Dearsley enters proptech market with Unissu
Well-known proptech commentators James Dearsley and Eddie Holmes have raised £150,000 of pre-seed funding to develop an online database of companies in the property technology market. The new platform will be called Unissu and is due to launch in the autumn.
The database will include company size, location, the lifecycle stage of property the tech fits in to, a description of the tech involved, funding it has received and more.
Dearsley said the “ecosystem is growing incredibly quickly around the world but there is no single source to help the property industry understand what is actually happening.”
He added: “This has often left the industry struggling to grasp what is needed for their businesses and, even if they have made decisions on their PropTech strategies, they have made those decisions based on the part of the iceberg that they can see above the water. Unissu changes this by revealing the vast quantity of information hidden beneath the water line.”
The website will be free to access for property industry buyers and the plans for monetisation will come at a later stage, once the product has proved its worth to the property community, explained Dearsley. National partners around the world are being signed up to help map the proptech scene globally.
A group of 30 property professionals has been recruited to test Unissu in beta stage. Further announcements are promised in the comings weeks.
