CBRE launches Spacer office tool
Global property advisor CBRE has announced the UK launch of its product Spacer, a free workplace-planning product to help companies find their ideal office space.
Spacer is an online platform that provides a custom commercial property space search, with square metre recommendations for desk, office and collaboration spaces, along with necessary built-in amenities and break-out areas.
The programme is available to businesses of any size and does not require any additional software or installation.
Users begin by answering a 17-question quiz about their organisation’s goals and values to help them prioritise their workplace needs. They then receive a recommended list of space types and sizes that meet these needs, which Spacer refers to as a ‘space program’.
Users can visualise their space programme in 2D and 3D with detailed floor plans. This information is shared with a CBRE professional, who will help users search for their ideal office space for no additional cost.
Lewis Beck, head of CBRE EMEA workplace, commented: “Employees need access to environments that enable them to do their best work. Advances in technology mean that the way we get work done has evolved, so our workplaces must adapt accordingly.
“Most large companies are now utilising some degree of workplace strategy in their real estate process, designing their space using a variety of work settings, with a data-driven understanding of how they work and what their employees care about. Smaller companies are also looking to create a workplace environment that attracts talent and engages employees in meaningful ways.
“Spacer is an accessible technology that allows companies of all sizes to think about how to integrate new ways of working into their office space in formats that make sense for them.”
