WeWork bets on talent pool data in hybrid working revolution

The flexible office provider has formed a strategic partnership with Vertis, a data science, talent and location business, to bolster clients’ workplace strategies.

The rise of hybrid working has created a greater need for companies to understand where talent exists, how it is changing and how people commute.

Vertis offers market insights that show how employment, compensation and other metrics compare in different places – and how those are likely to change in the future.

Peter Greenspan, global head of real estate at WeWork, said: “This partnership with Vertis will support members with actual data to help make expedited decisions when it comes to real estate.

“Having visibility into where labour pool growth is happening or understanding commute times for employees allows business leaders to strategically plan for the evolving future of work.”

He added that WeWork’s enterprise clients – large organisations – have a growing need for flexible space.

But as companies experiment with decentralised offices, or hub-and-spoke style real estate strategies, they will need more data to understand where those spaces will perform best and attract the most talent.

Commenting on the partnership with WeWork, Sam Hocking, president and co-founder at Vertis, said: “It is recognition that Vertis can help one of today’s most dynamic companies make business decisions that take into account billions of data points around talent pools, location and real estate, weaving them into the fabric of decision-making and ensuring that the move to hybrid conditions or flexible work is being made in the most efficient way possible.”
