Upflex lands deal to bring workspace to airports

The hybrid working platform has teamed up with DragonPass, the airport and rail lounge service provider, to offer flex office space at 1,100 lounges worldwide.

Created to help companies manage their flexible or distributed teams, Upflex has a network of bookable workspaces along with tools to give management a better understanding of where and how employees are working.

The partnership with DragonPass will give Upflex’s customers and their employees on-demand access to airport and rail lounges that offer meeting rooms and individual workspaces.

Christophe Garnier, CEO and co-founder of Upflex, said: “The new inventory category finally allows travellers on the go to easily find and book a convenient work environment anywhere.

“We’re always looking for ways to expand our offering, and given the steady growth of corporate travel, this partnership will prove vital in a new era of work where flexibility comes first.”

Last year, Upflex raised $30m in a funding round led by WeWork, which had previously entered into an exclusive partnership with the company, making Upflex the sole aggregator of WeWork offices.

Partnerships are an integral part of Upflex’s operations for aggregating offices in its network, but it also powers other flex space platforms, including Colliers Mobility Pass and Newmark Optality.

Meanwhile, DragonPass – which operates in 140 countries, including in APAC, Central Europe and North America – offers a suite of services to its users at airports, including lounge access and dining.

Andrew Harrison-Chinn, CEO of DragonPass, said: “We see our partnership with Upflex as a first step in evolving our collective member offerings. DragonPass is a leader in airport lounge and travel benefits aggregation, so collaborating with Upflex and their extensive portfolio of shared workspaces allows us to offer customers unparalleled workspace coverage on the move.

“As an industry leader in crafting premium loyalty benefits, we hope our collaboration with Upflex will provide their members further enjoyment to their travel and working experiences.”
