UK PropTech Association’s awards take place next week

This year’s UK PropTech Awards will be held virtually on Wednesday 18 November 2020 and for the first time they will be free and accessible to the entire industry to attend.

The event celebrates success and innovation across the UK property and proptech sector by rewarding and recognising talented individuals and deserving companies in real estate and technology over the last 12 months.

The awards were founded in 2018 and going into its third year the competition brings together a panel of six expert judges including Weronika Holt, client solutions director at CBRE; and Dan Hughes, founder of Alpha Property Insights. The panel combines industry experience and market knowledge to select the best in class across each of the 16 award categories.

Like many industries the property sector has experienced a number of significant challenges in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, with many organisations initially reporting a decreased demand for their services, operational issues, disruption to supply chains and investment deferrals. Around 45% of proptech businesses predicted that they would be going into survival mode for the three-month period following April.

In the wake of these challenges a true success has been the proptech industry’s quick response and ability to adapt, enabling it to ultimately support property companies to continue operations and deliver services to their customers.

Matt Partridge, chairman of the UK PropTech Association, commented: “This year has been a challenging but transformative year for the property industry. We have seen a surge in demand for many proptech solutions and an acceleration in adoption.”

The property industry has moved fast to innovate and collaborate with proptechs and many of the big success stories will be recognised in this year’s awards which are underpinned by values attributed to the success of the industry as a whole such as collaboration, diversity, adaptability and service excellence. Awards will be given in key areas including Special Achievement, Diversity Advocate, Adoption of Tech, and Most Innovative Business.

This year’s Awards have been headline sponsored by LMRE, a leading provider of proptech recruitment and are supported by CREtech and a variety of category sponsors across the industry. The support of these organisations and the judging panel has played a pivotal role in developing this year’s virtual event at short notice, and the assistance they have given to the UKPA is testament to the industry’s ability to come together during challenging times.

In addition to the awards this year’s guests can expect to be the first to first to find out who has been elected to the UKPA board of directors for 2021, with an announcement being made at the close of the event following a month of deliberation and voting from UKPA members.

The virtual awards are open to the entire industry and are free to attend. Those coming to the event will have the opportunity to watch the full awards show followed by networking opportunities with other guests and sponsors of the event.

Registrations are open until 17 November.
