Facebook Marketplace

TheHouseShop integrates with Facebook

Property marketplace TheHouseShop has announced it is integrating with Facebook Marketplace to offer its agency rental properties free listings on the social media platform.

Following sign ups from Zoopla and OnTheMarket in September this year, TheHouseShop is now the third property site to integrate with Facebook Marketplace.

Agents working with TheHouseShop can now use the platform to market their properties to potential buyers both on Facebook and the wider web. TheHouseShop hopes its Facebook Marketplace integration will be particularly attractive for smaller estate agents who may not have the budget to list with the large agent-only portals.

The announcement closely follows TheHouseShop’s equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, offering investors a chance to own a stake in the company.

Launched in 2016 by ex-MD of CitiGroup, Sebastien Goldenberg, and serial property entrepreneur, Nick Marr, TheHouseShop was created with the aim of bringing the entire property market under one roof. The duo developed a model that allowed them to work with everyone involved in the property market. By allowing both private individuals and estate agents free access to the platform, TheHouseShop aims to create an “Amazon-style” marketplace where private and professional players sit alongside one another.

Sebastien Goldenberg, CEO and co-founder of TheHouseShop, comments on the impact of the Facebook Marketplace integration for the company: “We’re really pleased to announce our new integration with Facebook Marketplace as it will bring huge added value to agents listing with TheHouseShop. Estate agents can now list their entire portfolio with us, free of charge, and gain access to a huge audience across our network of partner property sites, our own dedicated audience of tenants, and people searching on Facebook Marketplace.”

“With so many people already using Facebook to engage with friends and search for spare rooms or rental properties, it made perfect sense for TheHouseShop to integrate with Facebook Marketplace. We can now offer a seamless experience for the people searching for property on Facebook Marketplace.”

Globally, more than 800m people per month visit Facebook Marketplace to buy and sell.
