Node board

Senior JLL + CBRE names join Telcom board

The internet service provider has announced several key appointments to its non-executive board of directors.

Christopher Baldock, partner at leading law firm Gunnercooke and an experienced executive in telecomms and IT, will take the position of Chairman. Joining Chris, is Mike Blackburn, who is currently the chair of the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership; David Lathwood, lead director for JLL North West; and John Ogden, managing director of CBRE North.

These appointments follow on from Telcom’s recruitment earlier this year of former Trafford Council leader Sean Anstee as head of it’s infrastructure division.

Telcom was first established in Manchester back in 2014 by co-CEO’s Doug Ward and Shaun Gibson with an aim to build affordable unlimited full-fibre networks across the UK.

Doug and Shaun commented: “We are excited that we have been able to attract talent of this calibre to enhance our company. With such a wide breadth of skills joining the team we are excited for our next stage of growth. With a strong senior leadership team and an established board, the Group is able to assert considerable momentum in delivering the vision to change the country’s internet.”

Telcom is parent to Node which is the communications ‘pluggable’ interface for buildings, providing a secure and supplier agnostic telecommunications point of presence for buildings.

“We are also very pleased to welcome Mike, David and John on board as widely recognised key figureheads in property, telecommunications and investment. To have their industry knowledge and experience at our disposal will provide significant enhancement to the roll out of Node across the UK and internationally, and provide vital support and resources to the senior leadership team.”

Node is already providing infrastructure for billions of pounds worth of property in the UK, with it being used by Schroders, ALL+, Legal & General, Fore Partnership, Allied London and Bruntwood.
