The organiser of the MIPIM stable of property industry events is expecting 1,500 delegates at the inaugural MIPIM PropTech Europe, to be held in Paris on 20 and 21 June this year.
Speaking at a briefing session at the main MIPIM event in Cannes this week, Reed Midem’s head of real estate division, Filippo Rean, said: “The launch of MIPIM Proptech in New York in October 2017 had 800 people, and the speed it has taken off surprised us as it’s not our ‘home ground’.
“Building on this, we decided to create MIPIM PropTech in Europe, because we think the industry is ‘getting it’ and is ready to create bridges between the real estate community and the ‘new technology’ community. There is increasingly a common language, these communities are looking at the same things from different angles.”
Rean said that MIPIM PropTech Europe will feature a proportionately higher volume of conference sessions than the main MIPIM events, with ample space for demonstration areas, to accommodate “a high interest in learning”.
He added: “Both real estate industry and technologists are interested in maximising the value and benefits of the buildings we live and work in, the real estate community is adapting to a more customer-centric approach and learning from working with young people entrepreneurs and technologists who themselves have worked in other fields, to develop their breadth of knowledge.”
