Quintain picks first CTO

The BTR developer has announced the appointment of Jim Eaton-Terry as its first chief technology officer to integrate technology systems, create end-to-end development and leasing systems and to support the company’s ambitious plans for growth in London, the UK and internationally.

Quintain is one of the UK’s largest developers and Build to Rent operators, responsible for London’s Wembley Park neighbourhood creating 8,500 homes, retail, leisure, offices and cultural sites across 85 acres.

In this new role, Eaton-Terry will bring together the integrated Wembley Park fibre network, Quintain’s ambitious building information modelling data capabilities and Quintain Living’s digital marketing, leasing and customer engagement platforms.

The resulting end-to-end technology and innovation function will develop new ways to engage existing and potential residents, maximise efficiency, safety and sustainability of building operations and establish new revenue lines.

Eaton-Terry joins Quintain with a wealth of digital experience across a variety of sectors, having built IT strategy and delivery teams for organisations including the British Museum, Flybe, Clarks, Premier Inn and, most recently led the creation of a new technology platform for The Collective’s Canary Wharf development.

James Saunders, CEO of Quintain, said: “Jim joins Quintain at an exciting time for the company as we enter a period of ambitious growth. The newly created role of chief technology officer reflects our desire to rapidly grow and scale our pioneering Build to Rent business, Quintain Living, by using technology to ensure our residents get best in class service whilst improving our leasing and operating efficiency. For the last 12 years we have been embedding fibre and digital technology into the Wembley Park development, creating a world class visitor experience and a real, live technology enabled neighbourhood that we are incredibly proud of.”

Eaton-Terry commented on his appointment: “The combination of technical skill and passion for innovation I’ve already found across the whole Quintain team, along with the incredible scope and ambition of the Wembley Park converged fibre network infrastructure , means we have the foundations of an uniquely exciting neighbourhood.”
