Office App raises €4.3m for global expansion
The investment round for the workplace experience platform was led by German VC Join Capital and Austria-based Signa Innovations, along with backing from UK-based specialist proptech VC Pi Labs.
Founded in 2015, the Netherlands-based company aims to transform the way people work and experience their offices by using end-user data, trends and insights to improve the app’s offering.
Supported by a range of product partners, Office App provides over 65 functions for facilities management, community, amenities and services. These include food delivery, community engagement, maintenance monitoring, room booking, visitor registration and wayfinding.
Thijs van der Burgt, CEO and founder of Office App, said an office should “inspire you” and be “so much more than a mere desk.”
He added: “The team is ready to accelerate the growth of our business, scaling our European operations and entering the North American market for the first time.”
Since launching four years ago, the firm has opened offices in Amsterdam and London and developed a network of customers across Europe. Office App works with clients such as Cromwell, Dell, HPE, LaSalle, BNP Paribas, Nuveen, Coima and UBS.
Jan Borgstädt, managing partner of Join Capital, said the tech company has created a “truly impressive offering at just the right time”, with “real value creation” for landlords and a “dramatically enhanced” office experience for tenants.
Faisal Butt, CEO and founder, Pi Labs commented: “Since founding in 2015, Thijs and his team have made impressive progress in developing and scaling the world’s most advanced employee and tenant experience platform.”
