Nine innovations picked for RElab cohort

Coming from UK, US, Israel, Turkey, Finland and Spain, the companies are exploring tech-led innovative solutions in the areas of smart spaces, construction, sustainability and mobility.

The cohort encompasses a group of exceptional entrepreneurs that are re-imaging and re-shaping the relationships between space, people, services and sustainability.

The start-ups take part in RElab’s 14-week scale-up programme, which is centred around a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs, industry leaders, corporates and fellow investors. The companies will benefit from working on pilot and commercial opportunities as well as fine-tuning their product-market fit. RElab supports the companies on scaling their business in local and international markets as well as providing London working space; access to a deep network; and an initial investment of £100,000.

RElab is curated by Goldacre Ventures and supported by an ecosystem of leading industry partners and mentors actively engaged in imagining and creating future smart sustainable spaces. Partners include BAM Construction, Canary Wharf Group, Capreon, DLA Piper, DPD, JCA Engineering, Knight Frank, Landsec, Lockton, LogiFruit, Mace Group, RSBG Infrastructure, White & Case and 01 Ventures.

The programme culminates with Demo Day on 10 June, where the start-ups have the opportunity to showcase their innovative solutions to industry leaders and investors.

RElab 2020 cohort

ECOncrete, Israel | Developed a science-based approach to eco-engineering of urban, coastal, and marine infrastructure; providing robust, environmentally sensitive concrete solutions for the ever-growing climate change threats such as rising sea-levels and superstorms.

Massive Analytics, UK | Massive Analytics has created a suite of products that makes understanding and applying artificial intelligence to business as simple and ubiquitous as Microsoft Excel did for spreadsheets. With patents in over 20 countries worldwide, the company has worked on ground-breaking projects with clients including the Ministry of Defence, Amazon, British Gas, TFL and the NHS.

Modulous, UK | Modulous has developed an artificial intelligence enabled platform that facilitates high-speed design and delivery of high quality, sustainable, and affordable homes.  Their solution offers an end-to-end platform for modular housing, from design to assembly.

Qualis Flow, UK | Qualis Flow has developed an internet of things and machine learning solution for the construction industry. Its cloud-based solution measures construction projects’ environmental risks, enabling users to automate environmental data collection, analyse links between site activities and environmental impact data, predict environmental risks, ensure compliance and much more.

Reengen, Turkey | Reengen has developed an internet of things platform used by utility companies and multinationals to measure and optimise energy consumption and enhance sustainability across buildings.  Their technology also enables clients to conduct remote predictive maintenance of industrial machines and to monitor solar plants and smart grids.

Skyline Robotics, Israel | Robotics-as-a-service platform that adds off-the-shelf components to existing machines (eg lifts, cranes) and combines them with proprietary software to create giant robots which can perform dangerous jobs currently done by people. Skyline’s first product is a window cleaning robot for tall buildings and skyscrapers.

StrongArm Technologies, US | Helps workers in the logistics, construction, distribution and light manufacturing spaces to reduce injuries and increase their productivity. Their core platform captures and analyses in real time the risk of musculoskeletal injuries and environmental risks through an internet of things device and machine learning algorithms.

Visilean, Finland | Offers an innovative cloud-based production management service for the construction industry. The solution addresses the fundamental demand of quick and self-explanatory information for contractors and subcontractors by providing cloud-based BIM 3D and 4D functionality to visually manage and track the construction progress from just a glance.

Zeleros, Spain | Developing hyperloop-inspired technology combining the speed of a plane, the convenience of a train and the frequency of an underground system, making long distance journeys faster, more energy-efficient and direct-emissions free. Zeleros specialises in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of autonomous vehicles that will move inside low pressure tubes with magnetic levitation without friction, reducing aviation & trucking emissions.
