NavigatorCRE appoints UK head

The commercial real estate analytics platform has named William Young its regional head for the UK after raising £12.5m to expand the business outside the US.

Seattle-based NavigatorCRE recently completed a Series A fundraise to fuel its growth first in the UK and then into continental Europe.

Navigator is a platform that integrates analyses, audits and visualises all the property data a company needs and uses in one system.

The startup combines users’ data into one place, taking structured data – typical real estate data from ERP systems or underwriting – and unstructured data such as foot traffic or weather.

Young will assume the position of regional head for the UK after working as vice president of Navigator’s corporate development in Seattle for the past year.

He will manage Navigator’s investor relations and strategic and financial initiatives, with a specific focus on the UK and Western Europe. Navigator has previously said that it expects the UK to become a substantial portion of its business by 2023.

Taylor Odegard, CEO of Navigator, said: “Will’s appointment is a testament to the commitment and vision that Navigator has for the U.K. market.

“We want to become the go-to platform for data optimisation, visualisation and analytics in commercial real estate around the world and establishing our presence in the U.K. is an important next step for the business. The result of our latest funding round means we are now able to build our team and offer outside of the USA, spearheaded in the U.K. by Will.”

Navigator goes virtual

Last week, Navigator announced a partnership with View Labs, a provider of video and virtual reality services, to give users access to a range of visualisation tools.

These include aerial video, digital suite tours and augmented reality space planning alongside analytics tools.

Bryan Colin, co-founder and CEO of View Labs, said: “The integration provides CRE professionals with an all-encompassing offering and we’re looking forward to seeing the future projects that utilise this partnership.”
