MRI Software continues takeover drive with WhosOnLocation deal
MRI Software has acquired New Zealand-based workplace safety and security firm WhosOnLocation.
The acquisition expands MRI’s workplace management platform, giving customers the ability to track anyone with a physical presence in their building.
With nearly 5,000 facilities under management in 46 countries, WhosOnLocation’s cloud-based platform has applications for employee, visitor, contractor and emergency management. Those applications, it says, bring automation and efficiency to workplace safety and security.
Patrick Ghilani, CEO of MRI, said: “We are excited to welcome WhosOnLocation to the MRI family at a time when ensuring wellbeing and safety in the workplace is more critical than ever.
“The acquisition enhances the comprehensive abilities of our integrated workplace management solutions to enable the increased business agility organisations need to reimagine their workplaces. WhosOnLocation boosts our ability to support health and security measures, covering both landlords and tenants, as well as the wider community that engages with a property – reducing risk for everyone.”
The deal is the latest in a long list of acquisitions by MRI in recent years. Following an investment deal with private equity firm Harvest Partners in early 2020, MRI completed takeovers of Orchard Information Systems and three payment solutions brands. Earlier this year, it announced a planned acquisition of Manhattan, the real estate and workplace solutions division of California-based firm Trimble.
In 2019, MRI’s takeovers included Australian rival Rockend, document-reading tech Leverton, and residential specialists Dynamic Lead Solutions and Engage Property Technology.
It now operates in more than 170 countries and has more than 17,000 clients.
Darren Whittaker-Barnett, CEO of WhosOnLocation, said: “MRI offers the scale and global reach we need to accelerate the growth of our business in both our existing markets and new territories.
“Becoming part of MRI also offers our customers the opportunity to tap into its broad range of innovative workplace management solutions, which enable organizations of all types to more effectively manage their real estate portfolios and meet today’s unique business challenges.”
