JLL turns hunt for industrial space into digital experience

The real estate giant has created a tool to streamline industrial and logistics searches with a raft of datasets, analytics and virtual tours.

Launching in JLL’s London, Paris and Lyon offices, the NXT i-Log is a digital property search “experience”, which aims to cut the hunt for industrial and logistics space from days to hours.

The tool, available both remotely and at JLL’s dedicated NXT studio, gives customers access to a list of assets that suit their specific needs alongside contextual data, such as:

  • Demographic and economic data
  • Transport time and infrastructure
  • Availability of labour
  • Calculation of congestion zones
  • Natural risks
  • Market data

One of NXT i-Log’s main selling points is that it allows customers to do virtual site tours at the NXT studio, keeping them confidential and ensuring they lose no competitive advantage.

The service follows on from NXT Office, JLL’s digital search tool for the office sector, which the company has described as one its “most useful customer products”.

JLL said that NXT Office has saved clients up to 80% in property search time.

Following the launch of NXT i-Log, JLL intends to add new features throughout the year, including a sustainability module that incorporates CSR.

Andy Harding, head of UK industrial & logistics at JLL, said: “The launch of NXT i-Log enables us to not only support our clients but also provide a dynamic solution for the market that combines supply chain, real estate and technology.

“It supports a rethinking of the way that businesses choose and adapt their real estate strategy – saving time, increasing resilience and minimising risk, as well as the associated environmental impacts of traditional property searches.

“With the rapid growth of the logistics industry we have no doubt that NXT i-Log will prove to be a valuable tool for our team to use in supporting the many businesses that are both active in this space now and in the future.”
