JLL names chief data officer
The global real estate adviser has added to its fledgling JLL Technologies division created last autumn with the hire of Yao Morin in the new role.
Morin, based in San Francisco, will lead JLL’s global data strategy, product roadmap and delivery. JLL Technologies is a division of JLL unifying the company’s technology, businesses, services and applications.
“Now, more than ever, we are seeing broad innovation and adoption of technology in commercial real estate,” said Yishai Lerner, co-chief executive officer at JLL Technologies. “A comprehensive data strategy is key to JLL’s ambitions, and Yao Morin’s expertise will bolster our team with guidance and insights to drive our technology roadmap while delivering further value for stakeholders.”
Prior to JLL Technologies, Morin served as chief data officer and head of US engineering at ticket selling platform StubHub, where she defined and championed data strategy and oversaw the execution of a complete data transformation. She also drove the development and modernisation of computer software firm Intuit’s data infrastructure as head of data science and machine learning engineering and principal data scientist.
In her new role, Morin will refine and accelerate JLL Technologies’ approach to gathering, extracting, storing and leveraging data assets across all JLL businesses to create value for investors, occupiers and the broader JLL organisation.
“I am inspired by the potential that technology and data hold for JLL, our customers and the world,” said Morin. “Data can make an important, real-world impact in commercial real estate, from reducing environmental impact to facilitating safer ways of working in a Covid-19 world.”
JLL is embracing technology to meet the needs of clients today and anticipate the opportunities of tomorrow, aspiring to lead the global commercial real estate industry in reshaping the future of work and the built environment.
