Infogrid buys ESG data player Aquicore

The deal means the Internet of Things sensor partner for facilities managers has strengthened its climate reporting offer.

Infogrid said it has ‘scaled rapidly’ and collected 18 billion data points from hundreds of diverse customers.

Asset managers say they like Infogrid because its system is easy to use and the interface between sensor and dashboard is simple for asset managers to grasp.

William Cowell de Gruchy, CEO and founder of Infogrid, said joining forces with Aquicore would “drive our joint mission forward with ever more pace and vigour”.

Infogrid is four years old and raised $15.5m in late 2020 from a group of investors led by VC Northzone and JLL Spark. The business has 10 offices around the globe, primarily London and New York.

Aquicore was founded in 2012 by Logan Soya as a leading energy management and operations platform for real estate. Headquartered in Washington DC, Aquicore supports leading real estate institutions in obtaining high-quality ESG data, identifying and enabling efficiency projects and decarbonisation strategies, and improving energy and carbon performance across a building portfolio. Their solutions are currently deployed in over 1,000 buildings across the US, covering 300m sq ft, and representing more than 2,000 successful deployments and 100,000 actively monitored devices.

Aquicore employs 60 people. Founder Logan Soya will join Infogrid’s senior leadership team.
