Gyana hires Faccioli from Legal + General

Former Legal + General Investment Management research associate Enrico Faccioli has joined London-based startup Gyana as chief operating officer.

Gyana provides location-based insights for physical businesses and real assets using Big Data.

The platform aggregates anonymised data generated by the movement of people with physical locations, using Internet of Things devices. Gyana then analyses the data using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to work out consumer patterns and quantify human behaviour, with the aim of uncovering hidden opportunities and helping to predict financial success.

In his new role, Enrico leads on day-to-day operations of the business. Using his network in property and finance, Enrico will explore partnership opportunities and new ways of innovating the existing business model. He is already working on strategic partnerships with Big Data vendors to improve coverage in the UK and Germany.

Enrico spent 3 years at Legal + General Investment Management Real Assets, where his principal role was to identify new technologies and trends that may influence the business. He also founded and regularly chaired the LGIM Real Assets’ technological innovation group. Enrico is a startup mentor at TechItalia Lab and organises fintech and proptech events for Warwick Business School at The Shard.

Gyana was founded in 2015 by Joyeeta Das, and now employs 22 staff. The database covers 1bn devices and 3.9bn sq ft of space across the UK, Germany, US, Russia and Egypt.

The startup aims to cover all of Europe and US by the end of next year.

Clients include TH Real Estate, Barclays, Boston Consulting Group and AppearHere.
