Baum becomes expert advisor to AI firm Proda
Prof Andrew Baum, the influential thinker on the future of real estate at Saïd Business School, has joined the London-based startup as an expert advisor.
Baum is professor of practice at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. He is a world-leading authority on real estate and technology and author of the landmark 2017 report Proptech 3.0: The Future of Real Estate.
Proda harnesses the power of AI to unlock the value of data by enabling users to capture, consolidate and standardise data, with a focus on rent roll. The technology aims to automate previously manual and error-prone processes. It is targeted at asset managers, real estate lenders and investment brokers, as well as proptech platforms that handle rent roll data.
Baum said: “The current lack of data standardisation is a huge barrier to real estate companies using and sharing their data. Proda is innovating to tackle this issue head-on.”
Peter Bredthauer, CEO and co-founder at Proda, said: “We are honoured to have Prof Baum join us. As well as being a proptech thought leader he has impressive experience in real estate research and investment, which will be hugely valuable in guiding Proda’s development. We’re really looking forward to starting our collaboration.”
Last month, portfolio management software firms control.IT and Coyote bought a stake in Proda to boost their AI capability.
