The company has partnered with software provider UiPath to provide staff with more reliable real estate analytics and to cut the number of manual tasks they do.
UiPath creates software robots that emulate human actions. At Avison Young, these robots will source and gather key commercial real estate data – such as air quality or access to transportation – feeding it into the company’s analytics platform to generate insights that staff can use to meet client needs.
The expectation is that this will make data analytics faster and less prone to potential errors, which in turn will make any advice client-facing staff give more valuable and reliable.
Avison Young also plans to use UiPath robots to automate back office tasks related to finance, accounting, property management and other functions.
As part of its digital transformation strategy – created to meet “mounting demand” as the business grows – Avison Young has long-term plans to provide every team member with a robot.
‘Powered by people’
Mark Rose, chair and CEO of Avison Young, said: “We’re powered by people. Matching top talent with the best tech solutions has been a key differentiator for Avison Young and is essential to our ability to exceed client expectations by helping businesses, employees and communities see the full potential of real estate.
“Our partnership with UiPath will take that commitment to the next level as we apply automaton to accelerate technology, data, and digital transformation.”
Rose added that the company is already seeing value in automation despite being “in the early stages” of its deployment.
While Avison Young uses UiPath for corporate efficiency and better analytics, UiPath will use Avison Young as its real estate partner to guide its global expansion.
Ashim Gupta, chief financial officer at UiPath, said: “Avison Young’s vision is closely aligned with our own, which is to harness the power and potential of people by giving them the best available tools to make smart decisions, create an enjoyable workplace, and deliver more value in their roles.
“With many industries facing extreme disruptions and a changing workforce, organisations like Avison Young that apply data and technology to maintain business continuity and achieve a competitive advantage are poised to succeed long-term. Along with being a strategic partner, Avison Young is a prime example of how to leverage automation to accelerate digital transformation.”
