Autodesk, the American multinational company that produces major software including AutoCAD and Revit, has opened registration and revealed what’s in store for its 4-day Autodesk University Las Vegas conference in November.

Autodesk University Las Vegas will draw in around 10,000 professionals from architecture, construction, manufacturing, engineering and media creation.

With 770 classes and more than 700 speakers on offer, those attending will hear how their industry is changing, what technologies they need to master to stay relevant and what new skills will help them move ahead in their jobs.

Here’s a brief look at what you can expect

Anand Rajagopal, a data scientist at Autodesk, will be joined by Andy Leek of PARIC, vice president of technology and Innovation at the construction company, to discuss how to connect apps and data silos on construction projects using BIM 360.

Check out Anand’s class from last year about the impact of AI and machine learning on construction below.

David Beach, an architect that specialises in digital design technology, will be holding a mixed reality class, Visualizing design analytics in VR with Autodesk’s FormIt software.

Last year David held a class focused on virtual reality from architecture to prefabrication.

There will also be other classes this year surrounding mixed reality and design including Agile construction: Virtual last planner input optimised by Artificial Intelligence.

Laurens Wijnschenk-Mauritsz, machinist and expert elite at Autodesk, will be covering the intelligent robotics side of things with classes on programming to post-processor setup to machine capabilities.

Here’s a snippet of Laurens from 2017 talking about working with robots.

John Saunders, a CNC or computer numerical control youtuber, will also be joining the vegas conference to teach a class about how you can improve both parts and profits with better CNC tooling and cutting strategies.

From advanced manufacturing and industrialised construction to visualisation and advanced materials, the conference offers a variety of classes and sessions to help those that create and design our world to advance in their industry.

AU Las Vegas 2018 is due to take place on 13 – 15 November at the Venetian Hotel.
