Aareon acquires stake in Dutch firm
Housing management specialist Aareon has acquired a 19% stake in Dutch property software producer OSRE BV.
Based in Amsterdam, OSRE BV has developed a platform that aims to make property sales and rental transactions quicker and more efficient. Aareon said the aim of the partnership in the Netherlands was to integrate this software into the Smart World portfolio of products and jointly develop markets.
Smart World is an end-to-end solution that helps property firms connect customers, employees and business partners as well as the technical equipment installed in homes and buildings. It allows housing providers to digitise processes and interactions. According to Aareon, Smart World “removes the need for multiple systems and suppliers by giving you a true single system that will deliver all aspects of housing needs”.
Headquartered in Germany, Aareon offers digital systems and consultancy services for the property industry. The firm has worked with around 3,000 organisations, including private, public and church-run housing companies, student letting companies, co-operatives, property management companies, real-estate funds and insurers.
Dr Imad Abdallah, chief digital and ventures officer of Aareon AG, said: “With our participation in OSRE, we are continuing our strategy of investing in start-ups as part of our international growth story.
“Across Aareon Group, we co-operate with promising proptech companies in order to expand our Aareon Smart World portfolio for the benefit of the property industry and its partners.
“We regard OSRE as a major player in the efficient digitisation of property transactions. This plays an important role especially in our growth area, the commercial property market.”
Founded in 2012, OSRE is on a mission to streamline the transaction process for professionals, tenants and buyers across the real estate ecosystem.
Its software-as-a-service platform helps businesses with areas such as advertising, onboarding, landlord and tenant profile matching, and signing contracts.
The firm currently employs 15 people, with customers including real estate agency Heeren Makelaars, property management company Verwey Vastgoed and apartment rental agency Vcm Vastgoed.
Jurjen Thomas, chief executive officer of OSRE BV, said the strategic partnership with Aareon is an important step into the future for the firm.
Thomas said: “Our goal is to become the market leader for digital real estate transactions in the Netherlands through the best possible technology. The cooperation with Aareon as an investor will enable us to achieve further growth and access new markets.”
Jeroen Kuiper, managing director of Aareon Nederland BV, added: “We have concluded a partnership agreement in the Netherlands with a view to jointly exploiting our competitive advantage and further developing our markets.
“The cooperation has already begun. At the same time, the customers of Aareon Nederland, Kalshoven Automation and OSRE will benefit from greater efficiency through reduced administrative effort and the integration of OSRE’s solution in Aareon Smart World.”
