With political and economic landscapes changing at an unprecedented rate, you may be forgiven to think that carbon reduction is slipping down the agenda. Not so: with environmental sustainability sewn in to everything we build in construction nowadays the focus for this event is to explore the carbon reduction agenda and the client’s need for socially responsible businesses… something that through the Social Value Act is an increasingly concerning matter for all public sector procurers.

The Green Business Fund – energy efficiency financing for SMEs

Synopsis:  Through the Carbon Trust’s Green Business Fund, GB SMEs can benefit from energy efficiency workshops, funded energy audits, implementation advice, and claim up to £10,000 towards the installation of energy efficient equipment. This presentation will outline how SMEs, business property owners and suppliers of energy efficient technology can all benefit from the scheme.

Understanding social value and CSR to win work in construction

Synopsis: This presentation will provide a short overview of the Social Value Act and how it is impacting on public sector procurement of construction works. The presentation will also explore a work winning approach to social value and corporate social responsibility.
